Was fortunate enough to catch Micachu's toy guitars, manic drums and cool, collected keys at SXSW and then a few days later at Cake Shop in New York. They smirked and squinted their way through most of Jewellery at both shows, describing songs by their titles ("This song's about curly teeth. It's called "Curly Teeth."), seemingly surprised at both audiences' enthusiastic applause.
One of my fave jams on this record is about an id-driven, ass-pinching drunk.
Micachu & The Shapes - Worst Bastard

I picked up "Jewelry" when it hit iTunes the other day... if "Goldenphone" isn't the dance floor craze of the summer, so far i'll put my money down on "calculator"... but there are more than a few really standout tracks on the record... Micachu fever is going to be more contagious than that cold sore that got mysteriously passed around the boy scout camp way back in '87....
um, i mean than like a cold, or something.
