What's that? More from Brazil you say? Your prayers have been answered. From the classic Getz / Gilberto record, here's "O Grande Amor." Not only is this track from one of the few albums the Park endorses as "flawless," it's one of the most delicately sung, played and produced tunes from this period of bossa nova. Plus, it's mega tender.
There's hardly any percussion at all on the track, and yet it swings. Gilberto's vocals are barely a whisper, Jobim's piano rises only when the other players drop out, Getz's breathing is audible yet unobtrusive; it's a perfect example of letting skilled musicians produce themselves through instinct alone.
Hopefully, this will be the last time we switch up music formats on the site. Too many glitches with the MOG. Now you can play and download the tracks.
